I’ve been trying to move into a condo here for the past 10+ weeks. I’ve been extremely
dissatisfied with the way that I’ve been treated during this experience, and I wanted others to learn from it, so I created this site.

I’ve signed a contract early to get into a good loan after being told that I’d have a place to live in a month. It’s been 6 weeks past “a month” and the place that I’m paying a mortgage on still isn’t complete. The final “move in” date was supposed to be Friday Nov 30th after the condo had received it’s final CO (Certificate of Occupancy), but the place has in inoperable toilet, a leaking sink, and the faucet is installed incorrectly.

Kimball House’s delayed progression has:
+ cost me the monthly mortgage for a place I can’t live — $2600 so far
+ cost me money in rent while I wait for the place to be completed — $800 so far
+ cost me sales and revenue from 7dv — approx $300+
(no place to store inventory = no inventory = no sales)
+ cost me money for storing my furniture, items, etc. in New Hampshire — $470
+ so that’s $4500 plus the emotional stress to me and my girlfriend.

If you’re planning on purchasing a condo at Kimball House Square you might want to be ready for:
+ poor communication from the builder and the agents
+ unwillingness to put completion dates into writing
+ incorrectly measured square footage that results in incorrect prices in their favor
+ poorly or incorrectly installed fixtures
+ miscommunication from your contractors
+ a “finished” living space that’s unfit for living

Please comment or write me if you’d like more information on my experience with Kimball House Square. cavancanavan@kimballhousesquaretruth.com

Hipster Olympics…

I was in Atlanta this weekend…
It was great to see friends (thanks for boarding me Okan), but I saw enough tight pant wearing, Vice Magazine reading, obscure band loving(hating?), square rim glasses rocking, American Apparel V-neck showcasing, iPhone texting, anything I like hating hipster douchebags to make me want to throw away all my t-shirts, sneakers, and watches, and just buy a collared polo, khaki pants, and Hillary Duff CD and be fucking done with it. As one friend put it , “hipsters are just geeks from high school that got made fun of and somehow became asshole elitists”. What the hell happened? Plus, I was fine with the whole “strung out girl” look when it was localized to actual strung out girls, but now every freshman in college is trying to look like one of these back alley, indifferent coke heads….I liked it better when girls were pretty…

Image Resizing…

First post in a long time. I’ve been in the middle of relocating, and I’m still trying to figure out a few things, but I saw this and needed to post it. Insane image control of scaling, resizing, and erasure. I hope that Adobe has jumped on this; it would make the stamp tool almost obsolete. The idea that there are seams of visualization in the world gives me a weird feeling that they just erase a person by adding that person to the “unnecessary seams” list. Crazy.

Amazing video on the future of the digital world. A moving interpretation of how things might be…and a unique way of pronouncing Tyrannosaurus.

The Edge Pan gives all the people out there who like edge pieces the best part of the brownie every time. I’m a center piece fan myself, but if you like the edges, then this thing is for you.

Wildcharger: Wireless Charge Station

wildcharge
The new Wildcharge charging station allows you to charge your gadgets wirelessly using a process called induction–we’d explain it here, but it would make your head asplode. Just set your gadgets on the station, and they charge automatically. The system will be available July 9th with Apple and Motorola probably not too far behind.

(EDIT) The Wildcharge station doesn’t us induction as it’s powering technology. The concept is pretty much like a toy train or the slot-car racers where there needs to be direct contact. So lame… Doesn’t make my head asplode at all…

kozai
Vancouver based design studio Kozai Designs has some amazing pieces that show their strong Japanese influence. The lamp above is made from hundreds of tiny bent bamboo strips that create ominous and moody shadows when lit.
